If you're bringing children to the park with you, you can let them play while you get some exercise, as you can see the playground easily from all corners of the park.Ĭlark Creek City Park was developed in 1976, when the Public Works Department started design of a storm detention basin in the area, but I've never even heard of it before, making me wonder how many other charming parks I'm missing out on. Since the path winds up a hill and into a small grove of trees, then back down the hill toward the playground and eventually toward either the creek or to complete the loop, it seems like a great place to get a good workout in. My favorite part of the park is its elevation, which seems like a strange thing to take note of, but it offers so much more than a flat path it's almost like a mini hike. Not only does the park have several different areas to enjoy, it's also very user friendly with picnic tables and benches scattered about the nearly 7 acres. The park is used for hiking, bird watching, and geocaching. The state park features approximately 50 waterfalls, some with up to 30-foot (9.1 m) drops. Just as I reached the cover of the large branches, the rain started to come down a lot harder, and I got to admire the entire park from a safe dry spot. Clark Creek Natural Area is a publicly owned, natural preservation area encompassing 700 acres (280 ha) off Mississippi Highway 24 approximately 20 miles (32 km) west of Woodville, Mississippi. While the rain is not ideal for exploring a new park, deterring me from walking the entire perimeter, the path from the bridge leads up a hill and under the shade of some huge Douglas fir trees. The bright-colored shrubs and bushes hang over the small banks of the creek, which is rather full and flowing rapidly because of the constant rainfall. During April, when it rains off and on all day, everything is blooming and the color green takes on a whole new meaning. After admiring the small play area, I couldn't decide where to go next, as the 6.8-acre park has many paths to follow.Įventually deciding to meander downhill, I ended up at a small bridge crossing Clark Creek. The first thing I noticed was the playground, which seems to be a relatively new and in good condition. Upon reaching the end of the path, the park opens up to an incredible amount of space. ![]() The tiny path that leads into the park is lined with large bushes and trees, making me feel as if I were walking into a whole new world - much like when Susan enters the wardrobe and ends up in Narnia in "The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe." Hidden Creek is located in North Ridgeville, the 44039 zipcode, and the North Ridgeville City School District. Hidden Creek is currently for rent for 680 per month, and offering 12, 13, 14, 24 month lease terms. This week, I found a gem of a park that I will surely return to.Ĭlark Creek City Park, just off of Commercial Street on Vista Street, has a magical entrance, one that you would miss if you weren't in search of it. Hidden Creek is a 775 square foot property with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. It's those mornings where my head is still a little foggy and I haven't quite woken up yet, despite the three cups of coffee, I just need to spend 30 minutes outside. Sometimes, on weekday mornings, heading straight to work isn't the most productive way to start my day. ![]()
